Last But Not Least

Thursday 12th November 2020 10.00 – 15.30

YAIS offers a practical course for Teachers, Teachers of the Deaf, Teaching Assistants, Speech & Language Therapists and other professionals working with children who have cochlear implants and whose language is developing at a 3 word level or above.

Although children’s language skills generally develop very well with cochlear implants, current research indicates gaps within some children’s higher level language skills.

This course aims to provide information and activities to develop children’s higher level language skills. These skills are important for children to fully understand and express themselves in a variety of situations and to reach their potential academically.

The above course can be offered in conjunction with the local SLT / ToD service on request.

“Realisation that vocabulary is a massive area for all of us!”

“Thank you so much! I have learnt a lot. Very useful and gave me lots of ideas”

“Lots of super ideas which could easily be transferred to a classroom setting to develop vocabulary and inference in all pupils.”

£25.00 including lunch
